A ceilidh in honour of a dinner lady who is retiring after almost half a century is being arranged by Sgoil Dhalabroig.

Katie Campbell will be hanging up her apron after 49 years later this month at the end of term.

And to mark her devoted service to the school, Ceilidh Cheiteig is taking place on Friday, June 21, at 1.30 pm.

As the school states, the ceilidh is open to the pupils past and present and intended as a thank you for “all she has done for our school, pupils and community.”

The picture shows Katie Campbell in 2020 after 45 years at Sgoil Dhalabroig and serving up an estimated 1.8 million school meals.
