The long-running concern about the condition of Barra’s iconic Kisimul Castle is to go under the spotlight tomorrow evening (Thursday, November 30) at Castlebay School.
The meeting has been called by the castle’s custodians, Historic Environment Scotland and begins at 6.30 pm.
Kisimul Castle has been closed to the public for several years and is a bone of contention with locals and visitors alike.
It had been hoped the castle would reopen in time for this summer’s Homecoming celebrations.
After a previous meeting with Historic Environment Scotland in May, Isles MP Angus MacNeil accused the government body of “monumental failure” and expressed anger at the lack of progress or urgency in refurbishing the Castlebay landmark.
