A new women’s cancer support group for Lewis and Harris is to meet for the first time in Stornoway on Wednesday, February 1.

The Ladies Cancer Group plans to meet every second Wednesday of the month in the Western Isles Cancer Care Initiative premises on Cromwell Street between 2 and 4 pm.

The group is aimed at women living with cancer, especially those of working age or with a young family.

Announcing the new group, Western Isles Cancer Care Initiative said: “We’ve been approached by a number of ladies asking for us to establish a Ladies Cancer Support Group covering Lewis and Harris.

"We have one already set up in Uist.

“If you are going through or have recently been through treatment and feel like you would like to speak to others who may be in the same position as you, then please come along.”
