Uist First Responders have announced the details of their two planned volunteer recruitment drives in Balivanich and Daliburgh.
The Balivanich event will take place on Tuesday, November 29, at 7 pm in Balivanich Hall.
The Daliburgh volunteer meeting is in Cnoc Soilleir on Wednesday, November 30, at 7 pm.
Announcing the volunteering drives, Uist First Responders said: “Can we please ask all who are interested in becoming a Community First Responder to attend the venues? Before we can provide any training, these meetings are a huge opportunity for all within the Uists to demonstrate interest, ask questions and to support such a potentially life-saving scheme.”
Added the community organisation: “We never ever imagine any of us will require medical intervention until that occasion arises; this could be a friend, a neighbour or even a family member.
“The geographic challenges on the Uists mean you can make a huge difference by becoming a Community First Reporter.”
First Responders are a charitable organisation that helps their community by responding to medical emergencies while an ambulance is on its way. Volunteers are fully trained in a wide range of emergency skills.
