Fishing boat conversion
Planning permission is being sought to convert an eight-metre long timber-built fishing boat into holiday accommodation.
The applicant, Norman Mackay, ℅ SBA Architects, 17 Laxdale, is proposing to use the hull of Lily 1, registration number CY10, which is already on site, as holiday accommodation.
The fishing boat has been cut in two, and it is planned to convert the upturned sections into holiday accommodation.
A design statement states: “The boat has been cut into two sections with the stern section accommodating a shower room/WC/kitchen/storage area and wood burning stove.
"The bow section accommodates two bedrooms with hinge points at the bow end, which enables them to open to form two seats or to be made into a double bed. A 1.8-metre infill section has been slotted in between the two boat sections to accommodate the glazing/French doors and dining/sitting area.”
The proposal includes an external roofed sitting area, with turf used to roof the bow and stern sections.
Police mast upgrade
The Comhairle has been notified of proposed installation works to upgrade the police telecoms mast at the Beinn Na Cloch Radio Station in Dalbeg.
Airwave Ltd. plans to replace two existing antennas for 0.6-metre dishes at 24 metres and install two new outdoor units behind the new dishes.
Creation of storage area
Duncan Mackay and Sons Ltd. has applied to the Comhairle for planning permission to use 2000 square metres of land at the rear of their Parkend Industrial Estate premises for storage.
The extension is being sought to give the company extra space for the safe storage of building materials, plant, and vehicles.
