For a week from from Monday October 24 to Friday October 28, there's a chance to join UHI Outer Hebrides and Urras Oighreachd Chàrlabhaigh for a unique immersion in Gaelic language and culture.
This 5-day residential course will offer people the chance to learn Gaelic and experience local culture in the heart of the Carloway community.
Each day, attendees will have the opportunity to learn Gaelic with UHI OH lecturers before attending a range of cultural activities.
Language lecturers will be delivering 10 x 1.5 hours Gaelic lessons from the new Speak Gaelic course, and Urras Oighreachd Chàrlabhaigh will be providing a programme of cultural experiences and trips, including local history talks, visits to the Carloway Broch and Calanais Stones, workshops in step dancing and psalm singing, and a Hallowe'en-themed evening of local folklore.
This is all for only a £10 registration fee.
Accommodation is not included in the costs and students will need to arrange this themselves but advice and support for accommodation can be provided including accommodation in close proximity to the course venue.
The Gearrannan Blackhouses are situated close to Urras Oighreachd Chàrlabhaigh and students can arrange to stay and immerse themselves in local history.
