A tiny gift shop set up on the Isle of Berneray has earned a place in a tourism awards shortlist for its founder.
Businesswoman Eilidh Carr learnt on Monday (May 27th) that she has been shortlisted for the Young Women in Tourism Awards, to be held in Edinburgh next month.
Eilidh’s story of her gift shop business, Coralbox, and her continuous work within tourism has been entered into the entrepreneur category, after she started selling keepsakes and locally-made gifts at table top sales, moving up to a two-berth caravan conversion before opening the purpose-built wooden shop from which Coralbox trades today.
Eilidh said: “We are beyond happy to have made it to the finals and are excited to be part of all women working in the tourism sector!”
Eilidh also learnt earlier this month that Coralbox has been shortlisted in the retail category for the finals of the National Family Business Awards being held in Wembley, London this summer.
